Group members John O & Priest Forever, from Harlem, NY, take great pride in bringing back the art of story telling with their lyrical content by representing the genre with their authentic hip hop style. Tha Gecko Brothas have performed and toured as an opening act for several nationally known recording artists. Independently, they have moved over 10000 CD's acquired over 200,000 YouTube views and gained a reputation as one the strongest live performance acts on the New York City independent Hip Hop circuit. They have also secured a solid fan base and continue to receive heavy airplay on college and independent radio in the states as well as abroad. The group's current album, "It Takes a Nation of Geckos to Hold Us Back" has produced 4 singles and videos; "Turn It Up", "Hands High (Keep Running)" “Internationally Known” and the powerful "Love Yourself" which addresses the issues of Domestic Violence.
